(Emmanuel Barbee One OF Today’s History Makers)

Emmanuel Barbee is an upcoming social entrepreneur as well as a new urban author of the book “The Solution For Black America: Reclaiming, Rebuilding, And Restoring The Urban Ghettos In America” Second Edition. If we really want to make our community stronger and safer then we need to listen to Mr. Barbee plan/vision to improve Urban America. He provides a road map on how his organization (GRCAM) the Grass Roots Community Activist Movement will end urban violence, gun violence, poverty, structural inequality, institutionalized racism, and police brutality within the communities and cities we will serve if given a chance. His organization is open to all law abiding citizens, all racial groups, and undiscovered artist. GRCAM will be a private for profit multi service based business. Our focus is on providing goods and services to single black mothers, single black fathers, and low income two parent families who want and need our services nothing more nothing less.

Emmanuel is trying to raise capital through his book proceeds so that he can hire 30 qualified individuals to join his management team and assist him in the daily operations of his business. He also plans to turn his book into a movie so that everyone across America and abroad will know his story and what he has to offer to the African American community and society. Mr. Barbee wants to make Chicago a model before he expand his organization to 25 other cities within 25 states. He is fully committed to moving his virtual organization from behind a computer into the black community and make the hood a safe place to raise a family.

Chicago is broke because of corporate interest over common people interest. So Chicago’s elected officials are filling budget gaps with fines and fees, including parking tickets, and speed camera tickets, phone surcharges and other fees on working families. Our elected officials address rampant violence through arrests and incarceration instead of through living wage jobs, better schools and recreational centers. It’s not a coincidence that policies that serve corporate interests are the same policies that drive income inequality, poverty wages, unemployment, mass incarceration and other problems that disproportionately harms African Americans.

Twenty three years online and offline I been doing my best to get my message to other liked minded brothers, sisters, and others to work with me directly in turning my vision into reality. Since I lack the manpower and the capital to jump start my business I decided to write and publish my book. Once I am able to gather my management team in place we will focus on making every resident in the communities we will serve feel safe and secure this is one of my priorities as mentioned in my book. GRCAM will take the necessary steps to do our part to reduce crime:

* Work on building trust with police officers, schools, and community organizations in the area we will serve

* Provide safe passage for students leaving school due to gang violence/urban violence occurring in our inner cities starting in Chicago

* Hold bimonthly town hall meetings to make sure the community is knowledgeable of our services and how we will reduce crime in the community we will serve

* Create jobs in the community by offering private employment within the organization to our clients and members based on our budget and sponsorship

*Work with building owners to evict criminal tenants in our community

My vision to re-thrive the Westside of Chicago and the Southside of Chicago through my private school the Grass Roots Community Activist Institute OF Arts and Entertainment as a destination for entertainment, education, and culture by doing the following:

* Creating opportunities for needed parking for entertainment venues

* Bringing Chicago sponsored events to the communities we will serve

* To create a positive identity for the low income African American community which will increase economic development and public safety at the same time.

I believe it’s especially important to advocate for the most vulnerable residents in our community. When it comes to addressing the needs of those experiencing homelessness, a homeless shelter should never be a person’s permanent solution for housing. We still have people living on the streets because of the lack of affordable housing this is unacceptable. Increasing affordable housing throughout the City is the surest way to making sure people are not living on the streets. My organization will ensure that residents are living in a safe and more affordable place to live. It’s my belief that everyone deserves a safe and affordable place to call their own. Good schools help make a great community, this is why I have been so passionate about getting my private school started which will help make our community better.

My vision goes beyond Urban America. Once we’re established in 25 cities within 25 states I plan to expand abroad to Africa to create economic development in 25 countries in Africa. I want Native Africans in the United States to work with me in setting up chapters in Africa. We will wait until conditions of Ebola virus is under control before we go to Liberia. We will go through the proper channels to get my organization as an NGO (Non-Government Organization) in Ghana, Nigeria, South Africa, and do our research to see if people want and need our services. We will offer private employment to our clients and members based on our budget and sponsorship.

This organization will provide infrastructure for clean running water, agricultural technology to feed the people, do cooperative alliance in matters of trade, provide regional security, and most of all educate our people about the problems with Capitalism and show them an alternative GRCAM. We will also expand to Brazil and the Caribbean Islands to people that want and need our services. GRCAM is about building a strong unified global community and providing basic resources to communities and families that want and need our services. If black people don’t get involved with black issues and local politics within the community our children will continue to pay the price. This is more than trying to sell a book this is about real issues affecting urban communities, families, and society. This is my contribution back to my community and throughout the African Diaspora.
