(My Story: A True Chicago Story)

Welcome to the Grass Roots Community Activist Movement. GRCAM is a virtual Christian socialist organization. Christian socialism is a form of socialism based on the teachings of Jesus. We believe capitalism is idolatrous and rooted in greed, which some Christian denominations consider a mortal sin. The cause of social inequality is due to capitalism. We will focus on what we stand for: love, compassion, social justice, and liberation theology. Jesus commanded us to be a witness to others not just for us to read his word, but to activate social change in the world according to Luke 4:18-19. GRCAM will be committed to the healing ministry of Jesus by showing compassion to inner city youth and their families which will promote dignity to the people and community we will serve.

For 25 years I’ve been experiencing extreme rejection from established black organizations in my city about my plan to help improve our inner cities in America starting in Chicago yet my ideas has been overlook by established black organizations in my city and as a result Chicago is currently the murder capital in America. I am using the only tools available to me my Youtube videos, my Social Groups, my Blog Postings, my Blogtalkradio show and now my revised book.

I am not interested in getting celebrities to vouch for me nor am I interested in creating a Gofundme page nor am I interested in asking for donations instead I encourage like minded individuals within the United States and people from around the globe to read my story for themselves “The Solution For Black America: Reclaiming, Rebuilding, And Restoring The Urban Ghettos In America” second edition available on Amazon. I have provided a detail road map on how my organization will help end urban violence, poverty, structural inequality, institutionalized racism, and police brutality within the communities and cities we will serve if given a chance.

Once I generate enough capital from my book sell and connect with legitimate Angel Investors, Business Partners, Christian Entrepreneurs, Social Entrepreneurs, Philanthropist, and Sponsors who will work with me in starting my Nonprofit and my For Profit business the Grass Roots Community Activist Institute then we will put my ideas into action within the communities we will serve. GRCAI will provide a comprehensive array of programs and services in the areas of health, housing, private employment and social justice within the communities we will serve. We will become a full-service, complete destination which will cater to local residents and visitors to the Chicago land area. It’s my hope that the Grass Roots Community Activist Institute would become the Hub in the Midwest for emerging artists and upcoming entrepreneurs. I want to make Chicago a model first before we expand to 10 other cities within 10 states. My vision goes beyond Urban America I plan on having African Immigrants in America to assist me in setting up chapters in 10 countries in Africa.

Theme: For 2017 “Our Inner City Youth Matters/ Restoring Kingdom Commitment” Matthew 6:10

I call upon Progressive African Americans to work with me in turning my plan into a reality. I want us build an alliance with African Immigrants, Afro-Brazilians, Afro-Caribbeans, Non-black sympathizers as well as all Christian denominations, moderate Muslims, and secular people to consider joining this new movement in Urban America the Grass Roots Community Activist Movement.

GRCAI will be dedicated to raising the consciousness of our at risk youth population through our arts and entertainment programs and services. We offer anti-bullying and anti-violence programs. We will promote peace concerts and events within the community and build an equal partnership among local residents. We plan to strengthen the relationship among local residents with the Chicago Police Department.

Our recreational center will help reduce gun violence by giving youth a safe haven as well as private employment based on our budget and sponsorship. With violence at an all time high more investment in urban communities are needed in order to change the social conditions and reduce criminal activity. It is a known fact that lack of activities for youth and interest in their education directly leads to increased violence. Youth who are given alternative opportunities and activities are less likely to turn to a life of crime.

While most youth programs stress the importance of higher education, GRCAI aims to explore all options with an emphasis on personal development, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy. Under our youth program we will supply our youth with journals and a life coach who will meet with them to talk about reaching their life goals. This program will focus on goal building and task setting to allow our participants to become successful in their personal lives.
